ATONEMENT


 ATONEMENT- (Strong's H3722 & G2642)

Greek - Katallage

DEFINITION - the act of making reconciliation between sinful man and God.

The word "atonement" is found ONLY in the Old Testament, but the word "reconciliation" is used in the New Testament and that word describes what atonement is.


BIBLE VERSES USING THE WORD ATONEMENT

EXODUS 29:33 -
They shall eat those things with which atonement was made at their ordination and consecration, but an outsider shall not eat of them, because they are holy.

LEVITICUS 1:4 -
He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

EZEKIEL 45:20 - You shall do the same on the seventh day of the month for anyone who has sinned through error or ignorance; so you shall make atonement for the temple.
